Capture, Separate & Index Documents
VeriDact can capture or import both fixed and free-form documents
including application forms, claims, correspondence, reports and
virtually any other document type. The software can separate batches of
multi-page documents without inserting pre-printed separator sheets
between them, eliminating printing costs and reducing batch preparation
time. Index data can be automatically extracted from every document or
page based on a set of indexing rules that is built into the software.
Classify Documents by Content or Type
As an optional module, VeriDact can offer classification by document
type or content. As an example, if a user wished to perform a redaction
process only on documents containing the words "weapons of mass
destruction," VeriDact can sort those documents and redact the
pre-defined words, phrases or concepts based on the redaction rule set.
Redact Words, Sentences, Sections, or Whole pages
VeriDact automatically identifies words, phrases and concepts for
redaction based on a pre-defined rule set, or the word or phrase list may
be customized to meet a certain application. The software also
provides automatic word removal across multiple pages of a single
document or across multiple documents.
Manually & Automatically Search Text
VeriDact can automatically search for a word or phrase (including
bracketed text) as pre-defined in the initial system rule set, or the
user may request that a word or phrase, not defined by the redaction
rules, be added to the redaction set.
Provide Analyst Review & Approval for Each Redaction
Once the document or documents have been targeted for redaction, a draft
version of the document is sent to a review or analyst station for
validation and verification. Each word, phrase, or concept proposed for
redaction is highlighted in gray. The analyst can re-size or move the
redaction area, delete the area, add new areas, and add other properties
such as exemption codes.
Offer Black-Out or White-Out Redactions
The user or analyst has the choice of redacting in either black or white. Other annotations may be made in any number of colors.
Assign General Exemption Codes or Customize Your Own
Each redaction may have an exemption code or other annotation associated
with it. These codes may be pre-defined by a rule set, or can be
customized for an individual document or usage.
Create an Audit Trail for Legal Purposes
VeriDact will save an audit copy of the redacted document. If the
original document was captured by VeriDact, then the user has the choice
of saving the original as well as the redacted version. The original
can be saved in numerous formats.
Integrates with ODBC-Compliant Databases & Document Management Systems
VeriDact is able to release the original and/or redacted copy directly
into numerous document management and universal content management
systems (i.e. Stellent, Documentum, Hummingbird, iManage, TRIM and
others) and any open database connectivity (ODBC) compliant database.
VeriDact Supports:
- Image formats such as TIFF, PDF, GIF and JPEG
- Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
- Emails in Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Lotus Notes, including attachments
